Hobby Chef Linda is a jane of all trades, from accounting to real estate professionally, to a cooking enthusiast personally. With fond memories of food smells wafting from the home she grew up, Linda got into healthy foods early on, taking traditional recipes and making them healthier. Encouraged by her colleagues, and committed to bringing her lunch daily, Linda, "food and health, we all kind of came together as one."

What are you making for Dinner Party YVR?

.For the Fun–Guys: Mushroom Melody Pasta

What is your inspiration for Vegan Mushroom Pasta?

Where our food comes from is important and we don’t think about it enough. Recently Martin and I have been reading articles about where our animals come from and their desire to live. As I became more aware I've become more compassionate towards animals.

Does this play a role in the charity you chose to support?

The Wildlife Rescue Association is an organization helping animals in the wild. We’re essentially living in these animal’s territory and they get hurt because of our existence. The fact that there is an organization helping these animals is a good thing.

When people come over, what can people expect to find?

First, a really big art piece that is colourful and a very simple, minimalistic, clean space. Hopefully everyone will feel relaxed and enjoy themselves. I try to make people feel like they are at home.

Linda + Martin may have a full house, but there are still seats available at many great meals including Paola's Italian Tapas Feast supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC. Tickets are $35 and include Granville Island beer, Serendipity Wine, entrance to HawkersMarket, and of course, dinner. Not to mention you'll receive 100% back to donate to charity via Chimp.
