I received an email from Dave Shortt with a link to this video below today. At first glance it doesn't need much of an introduction (it's a flyover of a map with CG clouds and rain - a beautiful one at that) but the story of how it came to be is perhaps even more awesome than the finished product. Says Dave, "The Department of Geography at UBC decided it was time to dispose of a relief map of Vancouver that had hung on its walls since the 1970s. My friend Jessica posted a picture of it on Facebook and I knew I had to have it! I picked it up immediately and the next day I sent Jessica this video to thank her for the lovely gift.". While I'm incredibly jealous of Dave's new addition to his wall I'm also thankful that he created this beautiful video so that all of us can enjoy it.
