Egg nog has arrived! cc @AvalonDairy

To me, egg nog has really become symbolic of what we've been doing on this blog for the past 6 years.

To me, egg nog has really become symbolic of what we've been doing on this blog for the past 6 years. We don't cover crime, we don't break bad news or things that'll make you angry; we simply celebrate things that make your city great in order to put a smile on your face and remind you what keeps you here despite all the awful crap. Awful crap happens all over this great city of ours, and you don't have to look very far to read about it, so the one "breaking" story that I've got into the habit of doing is the scoop that egg nog has become available. That is our kind of BREAKING NEWS.

This morning the nice folks at Avalon Dairy sent a bottle of egg nog to our office, making the perfect addition to my coffee. Avalon was the first company in BC to have certified organic milk and is celebrating their 107th birthday this year. That's pretty awesome. We just might be working with them on reviving our Eggnoff Challenge, so stay tuned for that.

As a side note, the Grinch-inspired Christmas tree in the photo above was sent to us earlier this week by the folks at Homes for the Holidays which is a seasonal, self-guided tour of homes on Vancouver's West Side, all in support of the Kids Help Phone. Info and tickets can be found HERE.

Drink it up!
