If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Eating out is one of the best ways to overextend your budget, but of course, sometimes you just plain really want to do it, whether it's to hang out with friends or avoid making lunch yet again. Living on the cheap doesn't mean you never go out for a meal, it just means that you do it smart, and one of the most strategic ways to maximize your eating out budget is the lunch buffet. Go for a late lunch, enjoy the all-you-can-eat extravaganza (within reason of course), and chances are you'll just need a light snack for dinner. Done and done!

Of course, there aren't many lunch buffets left in town, but one is waiting for you at Atithi Indian Cuisine on Burrard between 9th and Broadway. Their lunch buffet comes in at $9.95, and you can definitely fill yourself up for the day. The buffet runs from 11:30-2:30 Monday-Friday, except holidays, and is chock-full of delicious Indian food that will make you want to come back for seconds.
