SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver.

With over 36,000+ artists, boasting more than 150,000+ tracks, the CBC Music/CBC Radio 3 web site is the absolute ultimate authority, and the home, of independent music in Canada. With that massive library along with tools for members (free to join!), we’re taking advantage of what they’ve set up by bringing you a fresh batch of music every week featuring local groups who have tracks (entire albums, even!) on the R3 site.

The PuSh Festival is back and running for another year from tomorrow (Jan 14th) to February 2nd - and once again they will be running "Club PuSh", Marquee Acts, that include musical performances.

This year one of those performers happens to be Gord Grdina, and more specifically Gord Grdina's Haram - who will be performing this Friday Jan 17th at Club PuSh! We asked Gord to put together this week's playlist, and I have to say, it was expertly crafted. Jazz, Punk, Rock, Instrumental...it's a great one (and it includes Veda Hille, who is also performing at Club PuSh). Click the images below to hear the playlist and come see Gord Grdina's Haram with me on Friday!
