Getting Techie With It: New Year's Resolutions #LDRTG13

I had the lovely opportunity of joining London Drugs, their employees and a few special guests from the media in Whistler to uncover the latest with all of the new gadgets hitting the market in their private Tech Trade show #LDRTG13.

I had the lovely opportunity of joining London Drugs, their employees and a few special guests from the media in Whistler to uncover the latest with all of the new gadgets hitting the market in their private Tech Trade show #LDRTG13. Each vendor at the show showcased the likes of new televisions, waterproof tablets (now you can watch reality TV in the pool.. right?) and endless amounts of cameras and tech accessories that you could get lost for hours with. With the new year kicking off strong, I've gathered my top 3 must-have gadgets for resolving all of your techie problems this year and to being more efficient and achieving those goals.

chattermitts

The Goal: You want more talk time with your loved ones - this year is about more than 140 characters.

The Resolution: Chatter Mitts by Logiix

The Chatter Mitts was the highlight for our group at the trade show. Their inspector gadget convenience - yes, it brought a lot of laughs - make them the ULTIMATE gadget for you to own this season. The gloves are bluetooth enabled with a mic built into your pinky and speakers are placed where your thumb is. Whether you're taking calls while hiking or are snowboarding down the hill (well, maybe lets not talk and ride) - nothing's better than keeping warm but still being able to chat. Continue the conversation this year with the chatter mitts.

sonyqx10qx100

The Goal: Step up your INSTAGRAM game.

The Resolution: Sony QX10 or Sony QX100

The Sony QX10 and QX100 lenses are an iPhone-ographer's dream. You can use them in two different ways:  they mount to your phone - via bluetooth for all smart phones, or you can hold it in your hands. Your phone works as the monitor and you can use a shutter button on the actual lens. It's the perfect tool for any one who wants to step up their game, is lighter than carrying a DSLR and you can share your high quality images directly to social media without delay. Talk about #selfies on another level.

Canon_SL1The Goal: Your mom still uses a point and shoot.

The Resolution: Canon EOS Rebel SL1

Moving from a point and shoot to a SLR is an intimidating task. Seriously, moving past the auto-function can be like trying to ride a unicycle. The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 retails for $700 and comes with a standard 18-55mm lens.  It's known to be the 'tiniest' DSLR available to the public. Awesome right? It's great for those who can't handle the weight of an actual DSLR, and it still uses the same size sensor as the EOS Rebel t5i with 18 megapixels. Now your mom can Facebook her photos like a pro.

Special thanks to the team at Hartley PR and to the employees and vendors at #LDRTG13 for having me there and for the unforgettable Helijet ride up to Whistler.

How beautiful is our province?! I don't know if driving up to Whistler will ever be the same for me.
