Vancouver Is Awesome is a proud sponsor of The Chinatown Experiment, a storefront dedicated to pop ups which provides anyone that has an idea and the desire to bring it to life with the opportunity to make it happen. Every time a new pop up is about to launch you'll catch a sneak peek here on V.I.A.!

Blumin Warehouse is a co-working space for writers. This dedicated writers’ centre will act as a community to provide members with the synergy and support needed to refine their work. Blumin will offer semi-private, customizable space for members, with WiFi, fresh coffee, printing and photocopy facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Directors Carol Shillibeer, Carleigh Baker and Candie Tanaka are all graduates of The Writer’s Studio Program at Simon Fraser University.

Tanaka approached the Chinatown Experiment with the concept of setting up a Pop Up Shop to introduce Blumin to the general public and to serve as a fundraiser for its future home. Over three days, they will host literary workshops, film screenings and readings. Because the space allows for retail sales, the shelving and the walls are available to writers and artists to display books and art for sale. If you would like to sell books or artwork at this event, contact them at director@bluminwarehouse.com

A desk in the front window of the Pop Up Shop will be available all weekend for writers who need a quiet space to work. All three Blumin directors will be onsite for the three days to answer any questions you have about the writers’ centre.

Blumin Warehouse is currently looking for corporate sponsorship or investment to help them get started with their permanent space. If you’d like to hear more about their business model, please get in touch with the directors, or visit the Blumin Warehouse at bluminwarehouse.com.
