The folks at Transcontinental dropped off a copy of their latest issue of Vancouver Magazine today – their tenth annual wine awards issue. While steeped in tradition of covering the best food, wine and culture in the city, the magazine now has a new look – inside and out – which is arguably better than it was last issue. While I was quite smitten by their previous logo, I can deal with the fact that it’s changed (it’s not like they took the “Vancouver” out of it like, say, a brand with “Mountain” in its name getting ridding of the decades-old mountain in their word mark). Inside the format has changed, with the same features you know and love, some new ones, and many more sidebars and editorial rabbit holes to chase. It feels modern.
