If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap".

If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

A part of Main Street's implicit coolness is Hot Art Wet City, an art gallery that offers fun and accessible art, as well as classes and workshops - all at a great price. Pop in to check out what's on display for free, and keep up to date on their website to see what kind of events they have coming up. You can do yoga, surrounded by some awesome art, every Monday for only $10, they have free/by donation "Hot Talks" like the incredible-sounding dance/slideshow hybrid by Alison Denham and Billy Marchenski on April 24th, and Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School on April 15th, a $12 sexy live drawing class. More events are added regularly, so check back and there's probably more already right now.
