The folks from an SF-based startup called Mosey popped in to our office for coffee this week, bringing with them some stories of the adventures they've gotten themselves into on a trip they've dubbed The Great Northern Mosey. Driving in a Volkswagen bus from San Francisco to Portland, spending time in Seattle and finally landing here in our fair city, they've been connecting with some of the most awesome people in all of these cities, collecting Mosesys all the way.

And what exactly is a Mosey? It's essentially a curated list, or a guide, that users log in and create on an iPhone app and on the Mosey website. Like a travel guide where we can all share the best kept secrets so when people come to our town (or we go to theirs) they can find the gems, it's something that there's definitely a need for; twice in the past week on my Facebook I've seen friends post "Hey! I'm heading to [any city name], anybody got suggestions on what I should do?". Mosey answers this question, as it connects you with all of your friends' lists (ahem, Moseys) who are also signed up for it, as well as a legion of other tastemakers.

Their crew has been here for a couple of days and they've already connected with some great folks you might know: Lizzy from Rain City Chronicles, Reid from Lifetime Collective and Rick McCrank from Antisocial (who is pictured selfie-ing with them below) to name a few. For a moment I was surprised at all of the secret gems they'd managed to visit until I realized that Reid has been their guide, and that he has put together a Mosey of his best day in Mt Pleasant... which I learned is actually an experience that you can WIN.

Reid's amazing day in Mount Pleasant includes breakfast at Le Marché St. George, shopping at Lifetime Collective's Main Street flagship store, vinyls from Red Cat Records, dinner at The Acorn, beers from Brassneck Brewery, and a night's stay at the Opus courtesy of Hotel Tonight. To enter to win all you've got to do is sign up and start Moseying, and invite your friends.

All the info on the contest and signing up is at http://www.mosey.com/VAN. Now if you'll excuse me I'm about to go start putting together some Moseys of my OWN.
