You know what is fun? Going to shows and seeing live music...I hope YOU guys got to do that this week because I have been in bed with strep throat WISHING I was having fun and seeing live music. Luckily, as always, the amazing Jessica Brodeur of Vancouver Music Review has sent me some pictures of one of the shows I fully intended on going to see last week... Jeremy Allingham's CD release with the Washboard Union, and 1887. Thanks Jess!
THIS WEEK IN MUSIC: ...do you like pizza? and free admission? and Tragic Kingdoms (an awesome No Doubt cover band)? Of course you do. Go to the Cobalt tonight to enjoy all of that. On Thursday it's the 2nd Annual Tough Lovers charity show benefitting the ALS Society of BC. The boys will be performing (as will the band Smash Boom Pow), there will be a silent auction, and I will be running a photo booth...so come out to the Fox for some fun and support! Friday is a busy one...start at the Duality: An Art Experiment launch to check out some work by local artists and musicians. Then the choice is yours, Neu Balance, Mesa Luna, and Noble Oak at the Fox Cabaret, or Ladyhawk, with Joel RL Phelps, The Downer Trio, and Shotgun Jimmie at the Biltmore. On Saturday there are two more shows to choose between, Miss Quincy is having her CD release at the Media Club with Ben Rogers, and The Bloodred Yonder, and Twin Forks are back in town opening for Augustana at VENUE. Have a great week...don't get strep throat!
