If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled “cheap” and the other labeled “awesome”, the middle point where they cross over could be labeled “Vancouver on the Cheap”. In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Vancouver boasts some pretty spectacular nature, yet as a bunch of city-dwellers, most of us can barely tell what kind of tree we’re looking at, let alone about the delicate ecology of our forests. Luckily the Stanley Park Ecological Society has some great cheap events where you can learn and have fun. There are a few nature walks coming up this month, where for only $10 you can learn about our forests, what lives in them, and even what you can eat from them.
