We're still enjoying the last stretch of an awesome Vancouver summer, but there's no two ways about it, it's drawing to a close. No reason to be sad though, because you can turn the best moments you spent on the waterfront into a chance to win a great prize: a scenic helicopter ride!

Did you snap a great sunset picture at the beach? Have you been out on the water? Did you spot a cool animal on the shore? What else did you, your family and friends do on the waterfront this summer? Georgia Strait Alliance (GSA) wants you to share your favourite pictures, videos, places and stories from the Vancouver waterfront. You can post on Twitter and Instagram with #MyVanWaterfront (don't forget to tag the location) or submit here. Prizes include a ticket for 2 for a Helijet ride to Victoria and back, a Feathercraft kayak paddle, cool hoodies from Sitka Surfboards, and they will be drawn at Water's Edge Day on October 5th, Vancouver's first celebration of its shoreline at the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

The photos, videos and stories will be used to create a community map of Vancouver's waterfront. We want to learn about people's connection to the shoreline is, what Vancouverites do on the waterfront and what they value about it. The community mapping project is part of GSA's Waterfront Initiative, which brings together stakeholders and citizens with an interest in the shoreline to create a vision for a prosperous and sustainable Vancouver waterfront and an action plan to make this vision a reality.
