Olympic high jumper endorses The @VancouverSun (1987)

I recently shared THIS 1980's commercial for The Province newspaper so I figured I'd follow up with this one for The Vancouver Sun.

The year is 1985 and Olympic high jumping champion Debbie Brill delivers a bit of an awkward script in which she talks about juggling high jumping and high chairs, then offers a testimonial for the leisure and TV Week section of the paper, then another line about high jumping versus jolly jumpers.

Seeing as The Province did such a great job of SHARING INSIGHT about their commercial after we posted it we're hoping the folks at the Sun will deliver some on this one. Who wrote it? Was this part of a series? Are they all sitting in a filing cabinet waiting to get digitized? And when did local papers stop running TV commercials?

This clip is one of many gems that V.I.A. reader Rob Richardson has dug up from his collection.
