"My neighbour Sheila Mclean is the most awesome for many reasons. She served as a medic in the military. She has lived on our street off and on for 65 years in the house that her grandparents originally owned. She tells the most amazing stories about everything that has done on here over the decades. We live just adjacent to Mountain View cemetery and there’s lots of good stories about that - horses used to dig the graves! Sheila is an avid reader and she opened a little, free library on our street last summer which is used by all the locals and some dog walkers from farther afield. She is incredibly community minded and we value her so much! She makes Vancouver awesome!" |
