If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Recently I shared my favourite spots to get a cheap drink in Vancouver, but drinks aren't the only things benefitting from our newfound Happy Hour. Recently I got an email from one of my favourite foodie friends, Lima Al-Azzeh (follow her on Instagram and know where all the delicious-and-hip things are happening) informing me that oysters are where it's at these days. Turns out, oysters aren't just for the rich and famous! Before we continue, however, let's all say "oyster" a whole bunch of times until the word starts to sound really weird. Ready? Go! I'm not going to lie, that is a fun word to type over and over again. I hope you enjoyed that. Now, head on down to the Oyster Express and enjoy their happy hour! From 4:30-6:30 most days you can get yourself oysters for $1.50 each. That's at least half off your average oyster price.
