If you were paying attention to the news yesterday (from any source in the city) chances are you saw a piece about a landlord in Burnaby who was so upset about his tenants not picking up their dog poo that he decided to take an interesting step to try to prevent it from happening again. The dude sent everyone in the building who owns a pet a "sample bag" (a ziploc) and demanded that they submit a sample of their dog's poop so that he could get them DNA tested and get to the bottom of the mystery. Tenants were told they'd be evicted if they didn't do it, which is basically illegal, and the press had a field day not only with a buttload of puns in their stories but with the imagery chosen to go along with their features. I've put together a collection of all of it below. Click each image to be taken directly to the story.

Global News let us know that "The proof is in the poo" and somebody over there spent some time animating a fairly intense DNA-inside-a-poop-bag graphic...

The Globe and Mail used a photo the Canadian Press supplied along with their story...

CTV News let us know the landlord was "Demanding an unusual deposit" in a 2 minute video...

The Province ran the same Canadian Press story that the Globe did, but they went with this photo...

The National Post also ran the Canadian Press story but went with this sizzler of a photo...

Same with News 1130 and the CP, but they went with this supplied photo of the building itself with no dogs visible...

The Vancouver Sun wrote their own piece and included this image of a dog's paws with a full poop bag resting between them...

The Huffington Post ran the Canadian Press story but of course they included a funny gallery of 18 celebrities picking up poo, including this one of Mark Zuckerberg...

The Metro wrote their own piece and used a Canadian Press file photo of a dude picking up poo while his pooch mugs for the camera...

This last one is my personal favourite. CBC's Kirk Williams had a field day with the poop puns AND included this amazing photo of a dog pooping in his piece...

These stories were sparked when a tenant let their dog poop in the stairwell of the building, which is obviously way off base. If you're wondering where your dog is allowed to poo in the City of Vancouver, HERE is our recent piece that sheds some light on that.
