Have you ever walked around Trout Lake and wondered if there might be unknown beasts beneath the surface of the murk? As an angler I know that there are definitely some little fish in there but as it's more of a bog than a lake (which you'd be crazy to dip your toes into) I wonder what else might lurk below the dogs and the waterfowl there.

Over the weekend an anonymous blogger who goes by the handle of "Hardcore Loser" reached out to us, sending THIS LINK to a post he wrote about a supposed experience with an East Van lake monster. His encounter happened "8 beers in" and is likely a (swear-filled) whimsy, but it would still be interesting to know what types of creatures - beyond the trout and the dogs and the fowl - inhabit this urban body of water in John Hendry Park. We'll do some digging and let you know what we find out.
