In celebration of the World Cup soccer currently underway, our friends at Livestock (whom we shared office space with wayyyy back in 2008 when we launched) partnered up with Nike for a unique pop-up shop next door to their Vancouver Chinatown location at 145 East Pender Street.
Open for the duration of the tournament, employees and designers from the Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon are at the shop and specialize in Nike iD and customization.
Errol Andam, the Nike Special Projects Manager is the main mind behind the effort. He was also responsible for the world renowned Nike Shoebox stores that appeared in New York City and Los Angeles. The shop includes unique turf installations, a soccer ball chandelier, soccer ball motif wall displays, a competition bracket and a 70" screen streaming the matches.
The pop-up offers unique custom iD options on World Cup jerseys and apparel. Upon further exploration of the shop you'll find a laundromat inspired automated rack, embroidery machines, state of the art heat presses, and a laser etching machine.
You have the opportunity to schedule an appointment to have a 1-on-1 sit down session with a Nike iD specialist to customize a Federation soccer jersey or other Nike apparel with Federation patches, names, and numbers. Select styles of footwear can be laser etched with limited edition Vancouver and Canada inspired designs.
