With 16,000,000 of this species headed up the Fraser River this year (currently closed to sportfishing), it's the perfect time to celebrate their abundance and. Ocean Wise Chef Robert Clark (the proprietor of The Fish Counter on Main Street) is one of the chefs who'll be preparing 2,000 pounds of Pink salmon at the PSF's Pink Salmon Festival happening this weekend at Kits Point near the Maritime Museum. He talks about the species, and why they're so great, in the video below. The salmon were kindly donated by the Canadian Fishing Company and not only can you eat some for free, but you'll learn all about them as well as take part in a bunch of family-friendly activities.
