For those who take a fashion risk every once in a while, this one’s for you. Meet contemporary womenswear label designed and made in Canada, Eliza Faulkner. The designer herself, a Central Saint Martin’s graduate launched the label in 2012 after going through fashion houses: Erdem, Roland Mouret and Zandra Rhodes. Conservative school girl cuts paired with generous material Faulkner puts emphasis on clean lines, classic silhouettes and quality. Her pieces challenge the status quo enough to make you stop and think: ‘Wait, is that a hot pink fur dress?’ Then to fall in love with the entire label. Vancouver, you’re gona like this.
In 2014 she was nominated in the Emerging Talent Category at the Canadian Art & Fashion Awards and ELLE Canada named her ‘One of the Top Ten Canadian Designers to Know.’ She’s taking over Scott Landon Antiques on South Granville for a pre-Vancouver Fashion Week trunk show. Cut through the Fall air and dance in rich colours, texture, fabric with weight for a little something different. This is the first pop-up we’ve seen of this established designer and you can experience it all first hand before this line drops on the VFW runway. The pop-up runs September 25 – 27, Fri 10-7PM, Sat 10-8PM, Sun 11-4PM at Scott Landon Antiques, 2349 Granville St.
