Eat Well & Do Good with Erin Ireland Oct 8th

There’s not much I love more than a beautiful and delicious meal, especially as the weather chills and warm comfort foods come out.

There’s not much I love more than a beautiful and delicious meal, especially as the weather chills and warm comfort foods come out. But this season also makes me think about all of the families in Vancouver who struggle to afford even basic groceries – for both holidays and every day in-between.

To help support this local need, I’m teaming up with my friends at Natures’ Path Foods for their Eat Well Do Good Foodraiser event which raises food and funds for the food bank.

What: Eat Well Do Good Café and Marketplace

Date: Thursday, October 8, 2015

Time: All day, 6am-7pm

Location: Vancouver Art Gallery (Robson Square)

I love the “foodraiser” event concept. It’s so simple: eat well and do good. It’s an absolute no brainer.

As a lover of locally- sourced, organic food, I’m especially excited about the Eat Well Do Good Café and Marketplace. For only a $20* donation, you’ll receive a giant bag of Nature’s Path products and have the option to purchase other goodies from Silver Hills Bakery, Happy Planet, Ethical Bean Coffee and Pacific Foods. You can also grab breakfast ($5) or lunch ($10) from the Café, knowing that 100% of the proceeds go to the food bank.

For breakfast they’ll have hot waffles with maple syrup, granolas and cereals, as well as freshly brewed, Fair-trade organic coffee. On the lunch menu is a Que Pasa nacho bar, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches and savoury soups. If you’re in a hurry, grab-and-go lunch bags are also available.

And, here’s the BEST part. For every dollar donated, the food bank can purchase $3 worth of groceries. So your $10 lunch (which you were going to spend anyway) becomes $30 for the food bank. How amazing is that?!

I share Nature’s Paths’ and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society’s vision for healthy, accessible and sustainable food for all. That’s why I’ll be there on October 8th supporting the cause. Hope to see you there! Learn more at eatwelldogood.ca.

Nature’s Path would like to thank their valued sponsors including Vancouver Is Awesome, Avalon Dairy, Bullfrog Power, Ethical Bean Coffee, Happy Planet, L'Ancêtre, Pacific Foods, Scotiabank, Silver Hills Bakery, and Sambazon.
