“I thought I told you to shut up!”

The short film “I thought I told you to shut up!”, all about Vancouver counter culture anti-hero Reid Fleming, was just released on Vimeo! The short explores “The World’s Toughest Milkman”, a comic book character created here by David Boswell in the 1970’s who first appeared in The Georgia Straight newspaper and went on to become a counter culture icon. Directed by Charlie Tyrell and narrated by director Jonathan Demme (yes, that Demme), it explores the story not just of our anti-heroic milkman but how a major Hollywood studio movie about Fleming got stalled “in development hell”.

Interviewees include Matt Groening of The Simpsons, Kevin Pollak, Dave Thomas, Jeph Loeb, Ed Asner and more. Watch it in its entirety below then go to ithoughtitoldyoutoshutup.com to learn more.
