In the last seven plus years, Paul Anthony's Talent Time has become known for consistently staging unique and highly entertaining shows, month after month. However, there is something about their Christmas Specials that apparently brings out their biggest audiences of their year. Maybe it's because their shows are synonymous with the type of unbridled joy and focus on community that most people only allow themselves to experience on Christmas day. Their 8th annual holiday special seems no different. Among the intriguing line-up of performers, they also boast a pine-scented snow machine which will make sure it snows indoors! If that doesn’t get you in the Christmas Spirit, what will?
The festive evening includes steel drum Christmas carols from Abbla Banji, storyteller Emelia Symington-Fedy’s true account of spending “Christmas with Cannibals”, 12 year old MJ Ancheta singing Mariah Carey, the best of the Notre Dame School Christmas concert and John Lennon tribute artist Kevin Davey with Happy Xmas (war is over).
Joining the talents, as usual, is hilarious co-host Ryan Beil from the long-running Sunday Service Improv troop, a live house band, free photos with Santa, cash & prize giveaways, comedy, and according to their Facebook page, they are promising “holiday smells” and “miracles”; whatever those may be.
You just can’t lose with this show, so, get out your ear muffs and don that ugly sweater. I suggest you purchase your tickets in advance to skip the box office line and to guarantee that you will get in. Who knows, you might even witness a miracle or two!
