This beautiful woman is the talented bass player in Vancouver's all-girl rock n' roll band Miss Quincy. Please meet Jessie Robertson.

Jessie was taught to play bass by her father, a lifelong bassist who still plays today Since the age of 13, the bass has been her instrument of choice. After playing in the Calgary music scene for 15 years (most notably in the ska-infused band Five Star Affair), she moved to Vancouver in 2008, and played in a handful of other bands before joining up with Miss Quincy.

When she isn't on the road playing shows with the band she is a photographer in her own right. We had a fun afternoon together on this shoot, and when we finished we were both hungry so she graciously made up some perogies for us. Jessie was recently married, and her partner (Canadian actress Luvia Petersen) directed the Miss Quincy video for "Damn You".

The band is currently in Los Angeles for month and play their next show at The Mint on Feb 11. Many thanks to Jessie for her hospitality!
