This linen is the most BC thing ever

Over the last few months while researching for our upcoming BC WAS Awesome history book I've gained an even greater appreciation for British Columbia and all of its weird and wonderful stories than I had before.

Over the last few months while researching for our upcoming BC WAS Awesome history book I've gained an even greater appreciation for British Columbia and all of its weird and wonderful stories than I had before. Born and raised in this province I've always been curious and aware of its past, and drawn to pieces of it, but as I dig deeper and deeper into books and museums and historians' minds I feel I'm getting sucked into a vortex of nostalgia and weird stories. I'll come out of it after my deadline next year... I think.

While clicking through Tumblr I recently happened across this newly designed linen cloth (tea towel?) from local studio Forest and Waves. It exudes the spirit of British Columbia's Centennial back in 1958. The illustration, the colours, the very essence of the thing brings me back to the Province-wide celebrations of our BC's 100th birthday, even though I've only ever experienced it by looking at photos and reading of it on printed pages. I love this linen, and if you're a BC hound with an eye for great design then I imagine you might too. Check it out here.
