Every year to celebrate International Women’s Day happening on March 8th, 2016, L’Occitane En Provence creates a one of a kind limited edition shea butter product to raise funds to support the economic freedom of women living in Burkina Faso, a landlocked country located in West Africa.
2016 marks the 40th Anniversary of L’Occitane which also celebrates 30 years of working with Burkinabé women to purchase their local shea butter at a fair global market price. Today, over 17,000 women in Burkina Faso are enjoying economic independence because of the L’Occitane partnership which has been recognized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as an “exemplary business”.
Excitedly, L’Occitane has just released the 2016 Women’s Day Solidarity Balm, a delicate rose-scented shea butter lip moisturizer, in a specially designed tin inspired by the wax-print fabrics worn by Burkinabé women.
Indulge your lips with this soothing ultra soft balm and help support the L’Occitane Foundation.
The 2016 Solidarity balm is now available for purchase for $6.00 at L’Occitane stores in Vancouver until sold-out.
