macaron dayNo longer do you have to travel to Paris to indulge in heavenly French macarons. Vancouver is home to a number of bakeries and cafes that make this affordable haute couture treat. Macarons are elegant pairs of tiny air-whipped meringues that come in an array of flavours held together with fillings including ganache, buttercream, lemon curd, and jam.

The famed Parisian pastry chef, Pierre Herme created "Le Jour du Macaron" to celebrate the arrival of spring and to give back to local charities. This tradition has spread around the world and this Sunday, March 20 marks the 5th Annual Macaron Day in Vancouver. Here's our picks for where to celebrate Macaron Day and help support local charities.
