Thrilled to have this fine gentleman as the #ArtistAtHome for today. Please meet Chris 'Dunner' Duncombe, the chief banjo plucker in one of the rising stars of Canadian Country Music, The Washboard Union.

He has been involved in music his entire life as an artist, artist manager and radio host. Chris rose from an on air personality at 104.9 Xfm in Vancouver to become one of the youngest Senior Program Directors in Canada at 99.3 The Fox, and later at Classic Rock 101.

He currently is Director of New Media nationally for Corus Radio, overseeing all aspects of new media and content for their 39 stations across Canada. If that wasn't enough he is also the host 'The Dunner Report' on Global TV. Despite working in radio, he says there isn't any crossover between his day job and his own music career. I had the pleasure of first meeting Chris in 2012 when The Washboard Union played the opening night at Squamish Valley Music Festival.

Chris has a got a sweet little jam room / office with a classic restored 1959 Wurlitzer Stereophonic jukebox (loaded with Sun Records and everything from George to Waylon and back) that we fired up for some tunes.

Over some ice cold Peroni beers, we reminisced about the late jam party after that Squamish Festival show and he regaled me with tales from Washboards' time in Nashville recording in the legendary RCA Studio A.

This past year has been a great one for Chris and his bandmates - they won the BC Country Music Association Award for Roots Canadiana of the Year and their latest single ' Maybe It's The Moonshine" cracked the Top 20 nationally on CMT Canada.

Many thanks to Chris for being an awesome host! Be sure to check out their website for new releases and show dates.
