On Thursday, July 7th from 5pm-9pm, Britannia School holds their 6th Annual Garden Party Fundraiser. Enjoy a local picnic dinner featuring Fraser Valley slow cooked pork, vegetarian salads, corn on the cob, garden grown vegetables, roasted nugget potatoes and homemade pie with ice-cream for dessert. A family-friendly event, there is live music along with games and activities for all ages.

Funds raised support three exceptional school garden programs:
Britannia School Garden provides fresh veggies for the school cafeteria and allows students to gain hands-on food growing skills.
Sega Girls School Garden in Tanzania, whose garden is twinned with the Britannia Secondary School Garden helps students with gardening skills and teaches about food security.
Eastside Family Place Little Sprouts engages young tots and their parents in garden activities, connecting children to food gardens at an early age.

The evening concludes with a silent auction with over 50 items donated from local East Vancouver merchants, services, breweries, restaurants and cafes. Excitedly all funds raised at this year's event will be matched by Scotiabank's Commercial Drive branch.
