#ArtistAtHome with Danielle and Drew McTaggart

If you’re wondering why there are two people featured in this edition of #ArtistAtHome, it’s because these two share their lives as both a married couple and as band mates.

If you’re wondering why there are two people featured in this edition of #ArtistAtHome, it’s because these two share their lives as both a married couple and as band mates. Please meet Danielle and Drew McTaggart of Dear Rouge!

Ever since forming their band to enter the 2012 Peak Performance Project, success has been coming their way. That year they took home the grand prize of $102,700 and this year they won a JUNO for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’. If you were watching the ceremony, you probably also caught them rocking live on TV!

During our conversation they pointed out the lack of music gear they keep in their apartment. They have a dedicated jam space close nearby that they treat like a workplace in order to main a stronger divide between music and married life. Never fear though, Danielle still has a sweet new acoustic guitar she keeps at home for moments of inspiration. As for Drew, when he returns home from months of touring he likes to relax with some Art History books. As you can tell we had loads of fun with this shoot and it was a pleasure to spend an afternoon with these two awesome people. Thanks guys!

Dear Rouge will be performing next at the Calgary Stampede on July 15th and will also play Vancouver on August 13th at SeaWheeze Festival in Stanley Park. Check out their website for music and tour dates.
