CreativeMornings/Vancouver Gets ‘Weird’ in August

CreativeMornings/Vancouver is excited to introduce Shauna Johannesen as the next speaker for August. An award-winning writer, actor, and filmmaker, Shauna can truly speak to the theme of Weird on August 5th.

To Shauna, stories matter. But she doesn’t want to just regurgitate stories people tell—she searches for the truth. And the truth tends to look different than originally thought—on the stage, on film, or even written words on the page. The short film she wrote, “Bedbugs: A Musical Love Story” has garnered numerous accolades on the festival circuit, and her plays have been produced across Western Canada. Her newest short film, “Trying”, is an edgy comedy about ‘What to Expect when You’re NOT Expecting’, and is her directorial debut, hitting festivals this fall.

Check out her work and make sure to sign up for the waitlist to get Weird with CreativeMornings/Vancouver next month.
