An interesting fact about The Boom Booms; the guys in the band all grew up together as kids from the same neighborhood.  When I arrived Geordie was playing some Bob Dylan (Slow Train Coming), which I had never heard before. What a great album!  As you might notice in the photo he has an old tube amplifier without a case.  When I asked him about it, our conversation eventually drifted to an anecdote about the consequences of having the hot tubes exposed. Geordie had put on a JJ Cale record and then went out for a bit, leaving some friends at his place, who placed the records on top of the hot amplifier. Needless to say those classic albums looked like a tilt-a-whirl ride afterwards.

We had a funny, but not so funny chat about conversations with US Border guards and the extreme sensitivity of the sniffer dog's nose. Many thanks to Geordie for being such a gracious host! Be sure to check out The Boom Booms website and be sure to see them and Loverboy play tomorrow for SHOREFEST at the Sunset Beach stage.
