The Vancouver Adapted Music Society (VAMS) has been making music accessible to people living with physical disabilities for almost thirty years. Their mandate is simple; everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of music, regardless of their ability. Through adapted instruments, a completely accessible recording and rehearsal studio at the GF strong rehabilitation centre and regular concerts throughout the year, VAMS has been able to provide people with the opportunity to write, record and perform, with the ultimate goal of inspiring confidence, creativity and friendship through music.

Now in it’s third year, the Strong Sessions LIVE is the definitive showcase of the talented community VAMS has fostered throughout the years. The concert will feature collaborations between VAMS artists and well-known West Coast recording artists, such as Jim Byrnes, Grammy award winner Chin Injeti, and a very special surprise guest. Check out the full line-up below and grab your tickets online today!

The Vancouver Adapted Music Society was co-founded in 1988 by keyboard player Sam Sullivan and drummer Dave Symington, both tetraplegic after sports accidents, to overcome barriers faced by musicians such as themselves. VAMS’ third annual Strong Sessions LIVE concert takes place September 22nd at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver. Tickets are $20 and available online, HERE. Proceeds from the concert will go towards updating and expanding the accessible recording studio located inside the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre.
