The Ribalkin/Viau family has begun their sixth installment of decorating their house with 100,000’s of Christmas lights for charity. Since 2010, they've collected $46,777.16 and 587 bags of groceries. "But this total is hopefully just the beginning", said John Ribalkin, owner of the house.

“Last year, the display raised $17,411.33 and 207 bags of groceries,” said John. “This year, we hope to reach $25,000.”

The family has also raised the stakes by installing a Christmas star 86 feet in the air. The star can be seen all the way in Stanley Park and parts of Downtown and will hopefully attract more visitors.

The family gives 100% of all proceeds raised to two returning charities, the Harvest Project and Shriners Cares for Kids. The overhead is covered by Aurore and John’s business, Verico Nova Financial Services Inc. This year, they are adding a third charity, the BC Epilepsy Society.
