Vancouver’s Golden Jubilee
In celebration of Vancouver’s Golden Jubilee, an 8-foot-high statue of Captain George Vancouver was unveiled in 1936 in front of the new city hall building, which was still under construction at the time. Doing the honours was Sir Percy Vincent, the visiting Lord Mayor of London
