Cascades Drive-In Theatre

The first of its kind in Canada, the Cascades Drive-In Theatre opened in 1946 and quickly became a Burnaby landmark. When this photo was taken in 1949, the featured attraction was the 1948 film, The Noose Hangs High, starring the comedy team of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. The novelty eventually wore off and the Cascades closed in 1980.
