Grouse Mountain

Saving skiers a two-to three-hour hike, a double chairlift opened on December 1, 1949, on Grouse Mountain. Photographed in the fall of 1960, William and Emily Berry enjoy a ride up with their daughter Lynn. The raincoats were provided for protection from the elements, and at the top riders were encouraged to purchase the pictures of themselves.
