Founded in 1979, this store dedicated to selling and repairing jukeboxes, pinball machines and classic stand-up video game machines operates quietly near the corner of Main and Broadway. It's one of those places that you'll walk by fifty times and then finally, when you've got a few free minutes, pop in to and marvel over the fact that it exists. It was crazy ten years ago and even crazier today, with our overheated housing market driving up residential and commercial rents. So it should come as no surprise that after a long run they're leaving the neighbourhood.

Bucking the trend of Mount Pleasant business owners rightfully bemoaning the fact that they can no longer afford to do business in the area, owner John Robertson took a decidedly different approach; he celebrated the fact that they're moving and took the opportunity to let everyone know that "business is booming". They're headed to a space that's twice the size at Boundary and Marine Drive in South Vancouver, and today is the last day their Main Street location will be open.

Check out the full message from John below and be sure to check out their grand re-opening on June 17, 2017. Like their Facebook Page and check out their website at flippers.com.

ANNOUNCEMENT: JOHN'S JUKES IS MOVING!

John’s Jukes is moving to Marine Way (near Boundary Rd) in Burnaby, BC. (Burnaby is a suburb of Vancouver, BC for the international folks)

We love the Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood, which we've seen evolve and change through the years, and we will miss it, but after a run of over 35 years we have outgrown our existing location.

Business is booming - we have 10 full and part-time staff, a warehouse of games to show off, and we need more room to serve you better!

John's Jukes is the largest full-time shop selling, restoring, and repairing vintage jukeboxes, video arcade machines and pinball machines in western Canada. Our technicians have a combined level of experience of over 100 years! And, of course, we sell new equipment as well, including Stern, Jersey Jack, Planetary Pinball pinball machines and Rockola bubbler jukeboxes.

Our new shop is conveniently located on a major thoroughfare and will be almost twice the size of our existing shop. We will have a wide variety of machines on site so take advantage of our free parking and come and view our restored and warehouse inventory in person.

DURING MAY

As you can imagine, moving a shop and over 35 years of contents is not an easy undertaking!

John's Jukes at 2343 Main Street will remain open until May 15th for parts and equipment sales. After that we will be closed until we reopen at our new location; expected opening date is May 25th, 2017.

If you plan on shipping boards for repair, please wait and ship to our new location. Our website will stay open to receive orders, but please understand that there may be delays from May 15 until May 25th while we set up at our new location.

We thank each and every one of you for your continued patronage over the years. We love these machines and we know all of you do too! We look forward to serving you at our newly expanded shop.

CELEBRATE WITH US!

Please join us for our GRAND OPENING Saturday, June 17, 2017, 10 am - 5 pm. There will be games to try, contests, prizes for the kids, and refreshments for all. Details and a map will be following soon on our website and Facebook pages. We really hope to see you and welcome you to our new John's Jukes LTD home!

Our Facebook page is the best source for up-to-the-minute news on our shop so please follow us at https://www.facebook.com/FlippersPinball/. Our phone number will stay 604-872-5757 and our website remains the same: www.flippers.com.

Detailed address info will be shared once we are all moved in, we will be moving a lot of equipment and for your safety we'd prefer we that we were all set up before you come and visit!

Thanks!
