1915

Georgia Viaduct

The first Georgia Viaduct opened to extend Georgia Street over the CPR’s Beatty Street yard. It was named the Hart McHarg Bridge, commemmorating a World War I hero, but the name didn’t catch on. Unfortunately, chunks began to fall off in later years, startling pedestrians below.
