Champagne and Cowboys
In 1936 French millionaire Charles Bedeaux decided to try and cross the British Columbia Rockies in a fleet of Citroen half tracks, with help from a gang of cowboys. They brought only the bare necessities, including loads of champagne.
The Cursed Town
Fernie has long been plagued by the perception of a “curse” being cast over it. We dig in and find the real story, with help of the Ktunaxa Nation.
Cranbrook Ed the Elephant
Now Cranbrook’s unofficial mascot, Ed the Elephant stampeded through the streets in 1926 along with a bunch of others who escaped from the circus. We retrace their steps.
