Some sweet old photos from the "Highways Department" of BC

This past weekend I shared a gallery of 14 " ridiculous bear photos " that the BC Conservation Officer Service has shared on social media over the last couple of years.

This past weekend I shared a gallery of 14 "ridiculous bear photos" that the BC Conservation Officer Service has shared on social media over the last couple of years. Today I'm happy to celebrate another government agency which has been doing a similarly great job in delivering non-partisan news: TranBC.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure does a lot of good online. They run one of the best Instagram accounts out there (@ministryoftranbc), which keeps people up to date about situations they might need to know about as well as giving us a look at what the rest of the province looks like outside the Lower Mainland. I have used it as inspiration to travel (or NOT travel to certain places!) on multiple occasions, and it's inspiring that an agency that could be seen as boring engages people the way it does.

Aside from their social accounts, they also share glimpses into the history of roads and road workers in our province. They recently shared a gallery of 12 photos from back when they were called the "Highways Department". Have a look at the gallery HERE, and be sure to follow them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
