Stanley Park will be home to a brand-new three-day music and arts festival in September 2018.

Stanley Park will be home to a brand-new three-day music and arts festival in September 2018.

Called SKOOKUM, the event is operated by BRANDLIVE, the same organizers as the now-defunct Squamish Valley Music Festival.

The aim of SKOOKUM is to "celebrate diversity and creativity and showcase some of the very best in music, food and art," according to media materials. "SKOOKUM is about the music that moves us, the food that delights us and the art that inspires us."

The event will take place September 7, 8, and 9, 2018 at the Brockton field complex, with a capacity of 20,000 attendees per day.

Though the lineup has yet to be announced, organizers are touting multiple stages set to showcase contemporary music across multiple "genres, styles and cultures."

Additionally, the plan for SKOOKUM is for the event site to feature live art, interactive multimedia installations, roaming talent, pop-up perfromances and sculpture. There is also going to be "SKOOKUM After Dark" related events situated in downtown Vancouver.

The event also has big plans for the food component, promising "unparalleled culinary experiences and tasting areas" offering BC wines, craft beer, and craft distilleries.

Look for the full event lineup to drop sometime in the spring.
