1-2. Game On Afternoon Tea/Game Night Tipsy Tea at Notch8

Following their epic Canada 150 tea, and previous themed stunners like their Brothers Grimm tea, Notch8 is playing to win with their fun new board game inspired themed tea service. Bonus: There’s a grown-ups only “tipsy” option, too! Your tea spread is served on whimsical bookshelf tiers, and includes fresh scones and clotted cream, game-inspired savoury bites (think a “Go Fish” Nicoise sandwich, for example), and a delectable assortment of sweets from the Fairmont’s in-house bakeshop–even a white chocolate chess piece to keep you on your game.

Game On Afternoon Tea runs now through November 26, 2017, with sittings Wednesdays through Sundays at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Adults $59, Children (ages 12 & under) $29.50.

Game Night Tipsy Tea runs Friday evenings from now through November 17, 2017, at 7 pm; $75 per person. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 604-662-1900, or online.

3. CinCin's Mushroom & Truffle Festival Dinner

Feast at this five-course truffle dinner experience. In celebration of CinCin Ristorante + Bar’s annual Mushroom & Truffle Festival, this dinner promises to be a spectacular Autumn tasting of flavours, flights, and funghetti. Your meal will be paired with the renowned La Spinetta wines from Italy’s Piedmont region.

4. Workshop - How to Make Nut Milks at Home!

How do you milk a nut? At this workshop, Zach Berman and Ryan Slater, founders of the Juice Truck, will introduce their new book on juices, smoothies, nut milks and living a plant based life and demo on how to make your own nut milks at home.

5. Old Fashioned Week

Launched in 2015, Old Fashioned Week is back for a third year from November 2 to 11, and there are a trio of Vancouver bars participating with special drinks to toast the occasion. You’ll find special offerings at three Vancouver bars: Clough ClubGranville Room, and The Keefer Bar.

6. Vancouver Tea Festival

The Vancouver Tea Festival returns to Chinatown in November for a fourth year. Explore the world of tea via the event's marketplace, presentations, and tastings.

When: Saturday, November 4, from 10 am to 6 am, and Sunday, November 5, from 11 am to 5 pm.

7. EAT! Vancouver

This annual tasting and learning event is back with nearly a full week of events, from grand tastings and intimate dinners to expert workshops and an entire afternoon dedicated to dessert--yum!

8. Food Talks, Vol. 15

For its 15th installation, Vancouver Foodster's Food Talks event brings together Caren McSherry (Gourmet Warehouse), Paul Grunberg (L'Abattoir, Osteria Savio Volpe), Brian Turko (Milano Coffee Roasters), Ian Bruce (Umaluma Gelato), and Jason Gilron (Pacific Restaurant Supply) for an evening of food-focused conversation.

9. Dungeness Draught Dinner

10. Cornucopia 2017

This is a big one! Whistler's annual food conference and festivities, Cornucopia, is back this month, with so much to learn, see, do, and taste. Chef's Table Lunches, Drink Seminars, live demos and presentations, and exciting dinners are just one small slice of what you can eat and drink up at Whistler's most delicious spots, from Sidecut at the Four Seasons to Araxi and more.

11. Reflections Winter Pop-Up

After a successful inaugural run last holiday season, Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Reflections: The Garden Terrace will once again be home to a cozy, festive, and fun Winter Pop-Up featuring food, drink, and everything merry. The Winter Pop-Up patio will welcome the holiday season starting November 16, and will run daily through December 31.

12. Slavic Food Fare & Open House

Get a taste of Slavic food at Holy Trinity Church during the Eastside Culture Crawl's 20th anniversary event. Great for anyone who enjoys Slavic culture and good home-cooked food such as borscht, perogies, and cabbage rolls.

13. Hopscotch Festival

Running Monday, November 20 to Sunday, November 26, Hopscotch Festival will bring together thousands of drink lovers at multiple events, including the epic two-day Grand Tasting Hall on the PNE grounds.

14. Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown

Top Ocean Wise chefs compete head-to-head for the title of 2017 Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown Champion in each city. Taste delectable original chowders, local craft beer and vote for your favourite, all in support of sustainable seafood. This year is the All-Star 10th anniversary throwdown, with returning champs dishing up their best. 19+ only.

15. Beanstock

This new event will feature samples from 25 of Vancouver’s top micro-roasters (think spots like Agro, Groundswell, and Pallet), and attendees will get to meet and mingle with the coffee creators and learn about what they do. Additionally, Beanstock will feature coffee cocktails, local wine, a pop-up brew shop, craft beer, and artisanal food vendors.

16. First We Eat With Our Eyes: What Multisensory Research Has To Say About How To Eat, Drink, & Be Merry

Geek out at this talk presented by KPU that focuses on the connection between our senses and what we eat. Dr Kristie Dukewich, Department of Psychology, will discuss the research on how sensations from vision, audition, olfaction (smell), tactile (touch) perception, and gustation (taste) interact, and how we can exploit this research to enhance our experience of food and drink.
