Vancouver now has highest gas prices in North America

It's a number one ranking we probably don't want to brag about: Vancouver now has the highest gasoline prices in North America.

Rising steadily for some time now, gas in Vancouver hit a North American high of 142.5cents/litre on October 31, according to gas price watchdog site GasBuddy.com.

We've set a new record for highest average on this day (it's 141.2 cents/litre right now).

GasBuddy's analyst has told local media outlets that our high fuel tax of 49 cents per litre and lack of supply from the to meet our demand are largely responsible for the soaring cost of fuelling up.
