Check out this new lunchtime vegan food tour in Vancouver

Operated by Vancouver Food Tours, their new vegan lunch-time tour hits up some Vancouver plant-based hot spots.

One way to discover a city's heart, whether you're a local or a visitor, is through your stomach. And for those who follow a plant-based died, or who just enjoy going animal-free when the eats are great, there's a new all-vegan food tour of Vancouver to check out.

Operated by Vancouver Food Tours, their new vegan lunch-time tour hits up four Vancouver plant-based hot spots, with a bonus stop to shop at a hidden gem vegan grocery and sundries shop.

Centred around Gastown and Chinatown, the Vegan Food Tour is run by enthusiastic guides who know lots about where and what you'll be eating over the next couple of hours.

The walking tour kicks off at veteran vegan comfort eats spot MeeT, where you can enjoy one of their most popular items, their signature Chili Cauliflower. Pair it with one of their special beers on tap or kombucha, and you've got a bold, bright way to get your palate primed for the eats to come.

The tour then heads to Chinatown for some slices at Virtuous Pie, the vegan pizza joint with inventive flavours (and clever pie names, like their popular "Stranger Wings") using their house-made nut milk "cheese," and fresh, vibrant toppings.

Next you'll make the short trek to visit newcomer Kokomo, where they will be dishing up a full bowl of goodness in the form of their best-selling Coastal Macro. Thanks to Kokomo's warm-weather vibes, it's kind of like an infusion of edible sunshine that can conquer the greyest of Vancouver days.

Save room for dessert, because you'll wrap things up at Umaluma, the wickedly delicious ice cream parlour that serves their handmade plant-based gelato; this stuff is some of the best "ice cream" in town, let alone some of the based non-dairy ice cream.

Jump across the street to get to know what's going on at Vegan Supply. Passionate about plant-based eating, and celebrating the explosion of products that have hit the market in North America that cater to plant-based eaters in the last couple of years, this is a hub for Vancouver's vegan community.

You may not be hungry after your four-course vegan lunch, but you're going to want to do some shopping here for your next vegan meal or snack, and score some great info from the shop's savvy staff, too.
