Cigarette butts, needles, take out containers and coffee cups are constantly being left behind at Vancouver's beaches... Time to clean up!
A group of volunteers plans to meet today at 11:00am to clean English Bay beach.
The cleanup is being organized by Surfrider Foundation, a volunteer-run environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of Vancouver's oceans, waves, and beaches.
Today's event is part of the group's mission to clean each of Vancouver's beaches before the end of the year. You can RSVP for the cleanup HERE.
As if a day at the beach weren't fun enough, Surfrider will also be giving prizes to the participants with the best ugly holiday sweaters. Prizes, good people and an opportunity to make our city just a little bit nicer... Life's a beach!
