Alter your brainwaves with these coffee-tea hybrid drinks

Another booming local Kickstarter.

Love the taste of tea but need an extra boost? Maybe you’re a tried-and-true cup of joe person that feels a little too jittery after their second cup. Well, Teagosa may be the solution to all your warm-beverage problems.

Teagosa is quite simply a blend of coffee and tea. It’s brewed JUST like coffee and tastes like your favourite roast mixed with the floral notes of your favourite teas. So, the premise is simple, but the science behind the drink is what’s worth getting excited about.

Co-founders, Bernadette Beck and Eric Bullock

According to Teagosa, tea contains two powerful cognitive enhancers; EGCG and L-theanine. When coffee is added into the mix, the human brain experiences improved memory, attention span, and learning capabilities. In addition to these benefits, EGCG can alter your brainwave patterns, helping you become more attentive and relaxed.

In addition to your coffee/tea induced mental nirvana, there’s a more global benefit to Teagosa. The company will donate a portion of its Kickstarter funding to The Innocence Lost Foundation; an initiative that builds rehabilitation centres across Sierra Leone for child and youth soldiers in need.
