The Dine Out festival began in 2001, when a group of food and wine enthusiasts got together with the team at Tourism Vancouver and pitched the idea of a fixed-price menu deal to get Vancouverites out and into restaurants during a normally slow time of the year. At the time, 57 restaurants jumped on board and since then Dine Out Vancouver Festival has grown into Canada’s largest food and drink festival.

More than 20 food trucks will rotate throughout the week so if comfort food is your thing, make sure to visit Old Country Pierogi. Craving a healthy sweet? In addition to its rib-sticking savoury pies, Aussie Pie Guy offers a traditional Anzac cookie made with rolled oats, coconut and golden syrup.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Street Food City back for a seventh year. It has become one of the annual highlights of Dine Out Vancouver Festival,” says Lucas Pavan, Tourism Vancouver spokesperson for Dine Out. “2018 is Dine Out’s biggest year yet with more than 300 participating restaurants, over 30 culinary events and 12 hotel offers taking place over the 17 days of the festival.”

Chow down at a table with work colleagues and friends or with strangers who might become friends. Tents will be provided by new sponsor EVO Car Share, so rain won’t be a problem. And what’s a festival without music? JACK FM will be on location Wednesdays, while Saturday’s entertainment is courtesy of KISS FM.
