From February 1 to 28, Café Medina will open three peak time slots each day (10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm) for two to six guests who pledge a $25 per-table donation ($35 on Saturdays and Sundays), with 100 per cent proceeds donated to the BC Hospitality Foundation, a local non-profit charity that provides support for individuals within the hospitality community who are coping with a financial crisis arising from a health or medical condition.

Westcoast Poke x The Juicery Collab

Did you know that you can get vegan tuna at Westcoast Poke? They've had this special ingredient for a few weeks now, and for February there's a fresh chance to try it. Alex Troll, co-founder of The Juicery Co., will be creating the Westcoast Classic bowl using her favourite fresh ingredients and showcasing the savoury Ahimi Vegan Tuna. This delicious and healthful bowl will not only be available at Westcoast Poke but at all three The Juicery locations. Plus you can get this special bowl paired with a Juicery cold-pressed juice for $18.

Dine Out Vancouver 2018

Now in its 16th year, the annual restaurant and food festival is back to tantalize locals and visitors to Vancouver from now through February 4, with its array of special menus and event programming all around the city like the food cart feast of Street Food City, World Chef Exchange dinners, and the Secret Supper Soiree.

Hot Chocolate Festival 2018

Back for its eighth year, the delectably sweet Hot Chocolate Festival will fill Vancouver’s mugs once again this month. The month-long event is undoubtedly the sweetest way to count down to Valentine’s Day, as restaurants, cafes, and treat shops all around town come up with original cocoa concoctions and specials to please your sweet tooth.

La Poutine Week

Enjoy a hearty start to your February by eating all the poutine you can from Vancouver restaurants and voting online for your favourite. The Quebec-based La Poutine Week brings Canadians together for a decadent week of poutine eating in the quest to find the best of the best in categories like Most Original Poutine and People's Choice and more. Participating Vancouver restaurants will be announced soon.

Mardi Gras at Mamie Taylor's

Mamie Taylor’s is bringing a touch of Bourbon Street to Vancouver in February with two weeks of special Mardi Gras menus in honour of New Orleans' 300th anniversary year. They'll have a special Fresh Sheet menu the week of Feb. 2-8, and another one the week of Feb. 9-15 (Mardi Gras is Feb. 13 this year). During the second week they'll have King Cake, too.

A Tour of Irish Whiskey

Get to know Irish whiskey the best way possible: Drinking it. Meet the Two Arms Whiskey Society, drink in a presentation, and enjoy food and drink. Each ticket includes two draft beers of your choice, a flight of whiskey (3 x 1oz) with complementary food pairing, and a presentation of each whiskey, all for $60.

Hard-Boiled: Breakfast for Dinner Pop-Up

Serious breakfast lovers, this is one serious pop-up event. Hard-Boiled is described as the "whimsical birth-child of Chefs Deniz Tarakcioglu [Café Medina] and Brad Miller [Red Wagon Café & Bistro Wagon Rouge]—the singular titans of breakfast in our beloved city." The menu will feature the brinner wonders representing a meld of Mediterranean and the greasy spoon. The sit-down dinner is 19+.

When: February 5-6 from 7:30 to 10 pm

Tasting Plates Mount Pleasant

Explore Vancouver's Mount Pleasant neighbourhood (centred around Main street between 3rd - 16th avenues) and tantalize your taste buds at selection of restaurants and cafes. Get your tickets and swap them for a printed passport to guide you through your taste-around for the night.

When: Wednesday, February 7 from 6-10 pm

Chowder Smackdown

Show up, eat chowder, drink beer, and vote for your favourite pairing. The event is a benefit for Mealshare, and will find four area eateries teamed up with local brewers.

When: Thursday, February 8 at 6 pm

Where: The Portside Pub – 7 Alexander Street

The Main Affair vegan food event

Celebrating Vancouver's dynamic vegan dining scene, The Main Affair will feature local plant-based Chef Karen McAthy and a wealth of vegan tapas. The event is from the same team behind last year's Brunch Affair food event in North Vancouver.

When: Friday, February 9; session one is 6-8 pm, session two is 9-11 pm

Where: Heritage Hall - 3102 Main Street

The Heartwarmer Dinner

Join Chef Heather Dosman (Existential Eating), Food Educator Camille Flanjak (MuseumEats) and their hilarious guests for a heart-warming night of laughter, existential eating and ethical hedonsim. This plant-based dinner will feature a multi-course menu of playful morsels and locally crafted beverages. To cap the meal there will be short and delightful comedic performances.

When: Sunday, February 11, seatings at 6 and 8:30 pm

The Wellness Show

This isn't necessarily an eating event, but food, drinks, nutrition, and health are definitely front and centre at the annual Wellness Show. The show has a dynamic schedule of live programming on multiple stages, including well-known Vancouver chefs demonstrating healthy recipes, and panels and presentations tailored to women, families, or focused on fitness.

When: February 17-18, 2018

Where: Vancouver Convention Centre – 999 Canada Place (Under the sails – Halls B & C)

Cost: Tickets are $12.50 to $20 (admission is free for kids 12 and under) and are available online and at the door (cash only).

Taybeh & Jamjar Collab Dinner

Two of Vancouver's most celebrated Middle Eastern food ventures--Tayybeh & Jamjar--join forces for an unforgettable evening of eating and fun. The menu will feature a combination of family-style served dishes and a couple of live stations showcasing delicacies usually found in Middle Eastern villages.

Pizza Palooza

What could be better than spending an entire evening eating all kinds of pizza? For the third annual Pizza Palooza, eat your way through Vancouver enjoying all kinds of pizzas, from Neapolitan to Roman to NY style, South Indian, Lebanese, and more. It's a self-guided night of pizza indulgence.

Tacofino x Tofino Brewing Dinner

Tacofino continues their new monthly beer collaboration dinner series with a meetup between Tacofino's Mexican-inspired eats and Tofino Brewing.

Vancouver International Wine Festival

Spanning multiple days and featuring numerous events from gala tastings to intimate dinners, the Vancouver International Wine Festival is considered one of the best of its kind in the world.This is a rare opportunity for wine lovers to meet owners, winemakers and winery reps from around the globe.

Speed Rack Canada National Qualifiers BC

It's time to back the rack again, Vancouver! Serious stirring and shaking is about to happen as the ladies of Canada turn up to qualify for the 3rd Annual Speed Rack Canada Finals, the all-female speed-bartending competition that raises money for breast cancer research and prevention.

Liuyishou Hot Pot Week
